PREACH JESUS
Scripture Reading - 2 Corinthians 4:5-7
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. KJV
One of the first points we notice about these verses is that we don’t preach ourselves. We could say we don’t live for ourselves, Jesus Christ is living through us. God sent His loving, thoughtful, wise, peaceful, gracious, understanding, Holy Son into our hearts through His Word and Holy Spirit. These attributes are referred to as the Glory of God. This Glory of God was given to us for a purpose, that purpose being that He might manifest His goodness to us first and then to those in our sphere of influence. We must always remember that this divine act of immeasurable grace is worthy of all our praise. This treasure of a living loving God who lives with us constantly every hour of everyday is worth more than all the riches of this world. Since we have this treasure within let us purpose to show the Face of Jesus Christ through the life we live before our fellow man. We preach Jesus by living as He LOVES first, and then speaking as He spoke secondly. Amen!
